MEDICAL negligence left this woman BLIND in one eye after doctors continuously failed to identify a brain tumour on her optic nerve and one GP even LAUGHED at her when she complained of severe migraines. Customer case manager, Abbie Trinder (24), from Wednesbury, UK, had been suffering from severe migraines since 2015 but was turned away by doctors who didn’t believe her and told her to stay hydrated. It wasn’t until March 2016 when Abbie’s vision went blurry, she made an appointment with her opticians who urgently referred her to the hospital. After days of feeling frustrated, Abbie went to the hospital and was informed by her doctor that the problem wasn’t her eyes, it was her brain. Weeks later, she was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham and she found out that a benign brain tumour had been growing on her optic nerve and had now spread to her pituitary gland, which had been there for years and she became blind in her right eye. In August 2016, Abbie underwent a craniotomy, the surgical removal of part of the bone from the skull to expose the brain, which left 30 staples in her head. Only part of the tumour could be removed, as the complete removal may have caused more damage as it was growing on the nerves. Despite the long and hard recovery process, Abbie is now completely healthy and has since started a new job and re-entered the social scene with her friends. She is now trying to raise awareness of the importance of eye tests. Abbie Trinder / mediadrumworld.com ***EXCLUSIVE***

Nem sima fejfájás volt.
Korábban a témában:

Abbie Trinder 2015 óta szenvedett a rendszeres fejfájások miatt.

Emilee shown during her battle with ovarian cancer (2). MEET the inspiring TWO-TIME cancer survivor who used to hide her scars in shame until she beat ovarian cancer and is now on a mission to prove to people that it is possible to beat cancer and love your body as it is. Professional health and wellness coach, Emilee Garfield (42), from California, USA, was born with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare microscopic form of cancer of the connective tissue but wasn’t diagnosed until she was just four-years-old in 1980. Emilee spent the following years in the hospital undergoing radiation of her pelvis and chemotherapy treatments for two years before she was declared cancer-free in 1982. Despite not being able to conceive due to her childhood cancer and having to have a partial hysterectomy, as she was at the risk of having cervical cancer at the time, when she was just 21-years-old, Emilee was blessed with three children, Hayden (15) and twins Macie and Griffin (12), via a surrogate, after harvesting eggs from the one ovary that was not removed during surgery. Throughout her adulthood, she felt insecure about her scars and body after enduring cancer at such a young age and this made her feel unlovable to others. She explains her emotions at the time and how difficult it was to embrace her body. Emilee Garfield / mediadrumworld.com ***EXCLUSIVE***
