A grotesque picture of a family that moves from Yorkshire to the German Democratic Republic in 1968 to follow the father’s communistic ideology, to build and strengthen socialism. Soon it turns out that her love towards her husband should be put aside and save her family from falling apart.
The movie gives us a somewhat euphemised image of the mother figure, still it is real food for thought.
