What is the difference between so and such?

These two adverbs are often used in a wrong way.

We use so with adjectives or adverbs:

– I didn’t like the book. The story was so stupid.

– He was reading so quickly that he finished the article even before the teacher.

We use such with nouns:

– I didn’t like the book. It was such a stupid story.

– I like Liz and Joe. They are such nice people.
